I know you're paranoid about theft and all, but couldn't you make your watermarks more subtle on not just this, but more of your works? I mean, this one is labeled about as bad as a pic you are supposed to buy in order to see the full version.
Its just a frustration I have kept to myself for a while. Figured I better mention it some time.
I was gonna list a few things, but most of which I'm sure you're already aware of anyways.
I can see various flaws in every one of them and ways to bypass them all and your method does make a huge deterrent to theft (putting your name in the middle with little transparency and/or the DeviantArt generated watermark).
But in reality, after hanging around furs for so long on FurAffinity, I come to realize that so many of them, who can't draw figures to save their soul, are very good at bypassing most anything you could use as a watermark, whether it be using a pirated Photoshop to clone out the marks or to program a batch file to strip pictures of their metadata in one keystroke. And if a person doesn't know how to do either or both, they likely have a friend that's more than willing to do so.
So the best I could suggest might be this: Don't use the DA default. Instead, use a variation of your name version. Make it reasonably smaller than these, relative to the figure and move it as far away from the center as possible, without going too close to edge. That way way, if its positioned just right, a cropper will have to cripple the image to get the water mark out.
Second, in regards to your watermark name, I would highly suggest using a white text with a blackish gradient blend behind it. The gradient is important as these are harder to photomanipulate out then say a solid line. Its still reasonable to manipulate out, but if you can slow a manipulator down enough, they will likely get bored or annoyed and not do as many or just move on before trying at all. So when you place the watermark, I would say reduce the transparency to between 10-25% but not any more or less.
Last and most obvious, set up a hotkey or whatnot to throw in you metadata into the picture. And don't waste time or money trying to find a way to permanently imbed the metadata. I searched for about 30 minutes while preparing this reply and didn't find much to make them permanent. And even if you could, its still easy to bypass. Probably easier to bypass than photomanipulating something out.
I stress the part of it being mostly futile to watermark pictures only because, in the case of your gallery, I've wanted to fav so many pictures but would keep me faving because of the blatant watermarks. They are ugly and detracting, but if you were ever to post something I really, really wanted to download and keep to put on my desktop to look at, I haven't seen a single picture in your gallery that would be impossible to fully edit the watermark off of.
So I think you should just do much more subtle visual watermarks as your upfront deterrent for people randomly browsing and finding your pics. The meta part could get someone in trouble if they do go far enough in stealing but not enough to remove digital signatures.
So all that is my rambling opinion. If you see any use for anything I type, that's great! It not, it fine.
Last I will say I found this website that was very interesting to read about online theft. You might consider reading it yourself. I think the article's title is very fitting: [link]
